OUR MISSION

The mission of Pipestone Christian Reformed Church is to glorify God in all it is and does.

OUR VISION

Pipestone Christian Reformed Church strives to be a growing community which models the life of Christ through significant relationships with both Christians and non-Christians. We will encourage and provide opportunities for building these relationships which respond to people's needs, hurts, and interests within the context of the promises and demands of scripture and the call to faith in JESUS AS SAVIOR AND LORD.

PIPESTONE CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH
A welcome message from the Pastor

My name is Stephen Wynja and I serve as the pastor of the Pipestone Christian Reformed Church. I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and an invitation to you to join us for worship at 9 AM on Sunday morning.

What will you find at our church?

First, worship. Our primary goal is Christ-centered worship. Our liturgy is simple to follow. Our hymns, songs, prayers, and statements of faith point us to Christ -  his praise, forgiveness, salvation, sufficiency, glory, and our hope in Him. Our sermons are usually expositional. This means we seek to show how each text in scripture uniquely teaches us something about God, salvation,  and living well in our current culture for the glory of Christ. We believe the Bible, as God's word, is endlessly interesting, convicting, challenging, helpful, and encouraging.

Second, people. You will find welcoming people who care about you and want to encourage you in faith. You will find people involved in the community through ministries like Volunteers in Mercy, the Pipestone Food Shelf, the Gideons, and other opportunities as they arise. You will also find additional ministries like mid-week Bible studies to encourage you in your Christian growth. Our church also hosts a Latino worship service Sunday afternoons. In our times today, which are often difficult, we need to stand with one another and we are committed to doing that.

Third, you will find biblical theology. The word "reformed" in our name comes from the 16th century protestant reformation. The reformation emphasized the "Solas" or "Onlys" of the church: Scripture alone as our final authority, faith alone as the instrument of salvation, grace alone as the basis of our salvation, Christ alone as the giver of salvation, and the glory of God alone as the goal of salvation. Additionally, reformed theology provides a framework for understanding the storyline of the Bible and our sense of belonging in it, which we call "Covenant theology." Our confessions, the Heidelberg catechism, Canons of Dort, and the Belgic Confession, faithfully summarize biblical teaching so that you know where we stand on matters of Christian Doctrine. We are a member church of the Christian Reformed Church in North America. Within that, we are a member of the theologically conservative Classis Minnkota.

We are eager to meet you and worship with you. If you have any questions about our church please contact me. May the Lord bless you!
